Du mußt immer zwei Dinge unterscheiden:

  * Herauszufinden, wie groß eine Platte ist (READ CAPACITY)
  * Erneutes Lesen der Partitionstabelle

Letzteres kannst Du simpel mit `blockdev --rereadpt' machen, wenn
keine Partition in Benutzung ist. Ersteres kann IMHO nicht manuell
angestoßen werden und erfordert ein plug-off/plug-in des Gerätes, was
natürlich nicht geht, wenn noch Dateisysteme live sind...
