ssh/ident

Hi,
neuerdings hab ich sporadisch probleme, mich auf einer meiner Maschinen per
ssh einzuloggen. Die Probleme treten gehäuft dann auf, wenn ich den Client in
einem rxvt starten will. Geh ich auf die Textconsole und versuche es da, dann
klappt es sofort. Im Syslog des Servers steht für die mißglückten Versuche
dann immer: "fatal: Did not receive ident string." 
Was mach ich falsch, was muß ich ändern?
