neuen Kernel bauen

Nach http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/showthread.php?t=233094
könnte es an den binutils liegen. Wie bekomme ich raus welche
Version ich auf dem System habe? Ich vermute die 2.12, aber
es könnte auch die 2.14 sein da ich damals ein LFS 5.1.1
genutzt habe und dort ist laut Doku eine 2.14 Standard.

viscid at lfs:~$>mount --version
mount: mount-2.12

?? Kann ich das 2.17er ohne weiteres im System verankern oder
muss ich noch weitere Libraries erneuen? Es sind halt doch sehr
grundlegende binaries die ersetzt werden.
