Postfix als SASL Client: No worthy mechs found

Moin Liste,

ich breche mir echt die Gräten dabei, Postfix beizubiegen, sich bei
seinem Relay-Host zu authentifizieren.

Debian-Sarge, postfix-tls & libsasl-modules-plain

in der /etc/postfix/main.cf steht (u.a.)

relayhost = smtp.myhosting.de
smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes
smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd
smtp_sasl_security_options =
smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter =
debug_peer_list = 217.175.253.222 # habe ich zum Testen gesetzt

Ich habe die richtigen (mit swaks getesteten Daten) in der /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd 
und habe auch 
	# postmap hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd
ausgeführt ... (Daten hab ich im log durch [user] und [pass] ersetzt

... und natürlich habe ich auch einen postfix reload gemacht. 

Im Log kriege ich aber :

Trotz Google und viel Testerei komme ich da irgendwie nicht weiter.
