Probleme mit Sound

Hallo,
  seit meiner RedHat 8 installation habe ich Probleme mit dem Sound.
Die Systemklänge sowohl unter Gnome, als auch unter KDE funktionieren, 
aber darüber hinaus bleibt alles stumm.
Da es unter RH 7.3 noch funktionierte, gehe ich von einem 
Konfigurationsproblem aus.

Den einzigen Hinweis darauf, dass etwas nicht passt,  habe ich in den 
Systemlog-Dateien gefunden:
 >modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-0-3
 >modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1
 >modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-0
 >modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1
 >modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-0

Zur verwendeten Hardware:
  Asus Motherboard P4B533, für den Ton ist der C-Media-Cip 8738 drauf.
  Allerdings habe ich auch schon verschiedene Soundblaster-Karten 
ausprobiert - jeweils ohne Erfolg.

lspci gibt folgende Ausgabe:

und Redhat hat folgende dazu gehörende modules.conf erzeugt:

Nun suche ich noch Ideen dafür, an welchen Stellen im System ich was 
einstellen kann, um Audioausgaben zu hören.
