Bei der Mandrake wird glaub ich ein Tool namens sndconfig mitgeliefert.
Das tool erkennt pnp faehige Karten und configuriert sie.

Ansonsten gibts afaik ein HOWTO, und die Kerneldoku ist auch noch da.
