Fragen eines Neulings

 Hallo Leute.

 Ich bin zwar kein ganzer Neuling mehr, trotzdem bringt mich Linux noch
manchmal ins grübeln. Ich habe vorhin versucht die gtk+-1.2.6 zu
installieren. Dabei trat folgende Fehlermeldung auf:

*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log
for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB was incorrectly
installed
*** or that you have moved GLIB since it was installed. In the latter
case, you
*** may want to edit the glib-config script: /usr/bin/glib-config
configure: error:
*** GLIB 1.2.4 or better is required. The latest version of GLIB
*** is always available from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/.

 Darauf hin habe ich das Jan-Benedict zugemailt der mir ein "apt-get
update; apt-get install libgtk1.2" empfahl. Dabei trat folgende
Fehlermeldung auf:

Das war der apt-get install libgtk1. 2

 Kann mir einer sagen, was ich machen muß um dies zu korrigieren? Ich
verwende ein Debian Linux 2.1 und würde euigentlich auch gerne auf
Potato upgraden. Nur so wie man es mir erklärt hat geht es nicht.

Du kannst einfach in /etc/apt/sources.list frozen oder statt stable
eintragen. Und non-US ist jetzt noch unterteilt.

Bei mir:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Nach einem "apt-get dist-upgrade" hast Du dann potato.  (Originalton

Wenn ich aber statt stable frozen eintrage kommt keine Verbindung zu
stande. Was die letzten beiden Zeilen angeht hat mir das System 23 files

upgedatet und 1 file neu installiert. Trotzdem bekomme ich stänig beim
Installieren diverser Programme Fehlermeldungen.

        Ich wäre euch sehr dankbar, wenn ihr euch bald bei mir melden
würdet. Ich stehe ziemlich auf dem Schlauch.
